LONDERZEEL IS ABOUT FAITH
IT IS A WALK IN DAILY LIFE A SILHOUETTE IN THE WIND BY FLORENCE MÜLLER
LONDERZEEL IS ABOUT YOUR EYES THESE EYES WHO LOOK AT ME AND CHANGE EVERY MORNING
IT’S A TASTE A CIGARETTE A MIST AND HATS
IT’S ANOTHER WORLD NORTH OF RIVER KWAÏ
FASHION IS A PUZZLE, A LANGUAGE, A SYMBOLIC FIELD – PASCAL GAUTRAND SAYS
Every morning when I wake up, I need to reassemble my own puzzle that got disassembled during the night: “La vie mode d’emploi” by George Perec.
Fashion is like writing, fashion is a language, fashion is a type of grammar and grammar is an essential constraint that boosts creativity.
Life is the only place to learn design.
Fashion and design are symbolic fields where we express our values, as are art or literature or music…
We should be able to read fashion – including THE INVISIBLE CHOICES that have been made to create any garment.
LONDERZEEL MAY BE A PUZZLE TOO, A VANISHING ONE
CLOSING YOUR EYES HIDING YOUR FACE AND REAPPEARING
AN EXPERIENCE TO BE REPEATED TOMORROW
THE FLAG PROJECT BY PASCAL GAUTRAND
The Flag project is about icons as incarnation of culture and is meant to inverse the hierarchy between image and fabrication. Without fabrication you cannot create any valuable image. My flags are like a manifesto for re-balancing fabrication and image. And so is KVA…
In order to “read” fashion, you need a distance, a global view. My flags: from close you see the savoir-faire; from a distance the image comes true. Both are essential and embrace each other.
AND SOMETHING MEANINGFUL BY ZOË SHEEHAN SALDAÑA
“Something I would think poetic? The things you have to do to be alive, to exist in the world, these things that seem rather like a task, a labor…”
“I am going about daily life, looking for something that is meaningful, has a spark, calls attention, pays attention, makes you laugh, or cry, something that takes you out of ordinariness – a poetic moment and you have changed an ordinary something into a remarkable one that resonates for a long time”
“I want to merge the ordinary and the poetic, merge the ordinary and the extraordinary, without separation, I want to wake up in the morning and do something resonant”
“Then experience comes alive”
“… the parallel of my labor and the labor of THE INVISIBLE PEOPLE who made the original seem absurd but makes sense… “
SHUT YOUR EYES YOUR BLOODY TEARS WILL FALL ON EARTH AND ROSES WILL BLOSSOM TOMORROW THEN EXPERIENCE COMES ALIVE
DRAW ME MY GAZE AND TEACH ME WHO I AM
LIFE IS THE ONLY PLACE TO BE
