Tuomo Manninen works with Analix Forever since the historical exhibition « Working Men » curated by Paul Ardenne & Barbara Polla at Analix Forever in 2008. « Working Men » : the photographer has been taking pictures of them for a long time… to know more about the story of how Manninen came into photography please read
here in French and
here in English.
But Tuomo Manninen is also a wanderer. And goes on vacation… as reported regularly by the
Oeil de la Photographie. And in Residency. And thanks to the Association suisse des Amis de la Finlande (Schweizerische Vereinigung Stiftung für der Freunde Finnlands, Studienbeiträge) , he recently spent a residency in Geneva, being
the first artist in residency at Atelier AMI – art&partage (to know more about the Atelier, please contact @ analixforever(at)bluewin.ch and attend the next opening on
May 6 at 5pm… The exhibition is entitled
« Portraits » and will feature, among others, AMI and Tuomo Manninen).
Here we were, Tuomo and myself, at Café Beaubourg, in Paris, preparing the Residency.
His project was to take promenades in Geneva. And so he did, from Annemasse to Cern, from rue de Lausanne to Plainpalais, from Analix Forever to Atelier and back… and took photographs that provide an essence of what Geneva is these days : a FLEUR DE PRINTEMPS.
Enjoy !
